Our Story – A Legacy of Trust and CraftsmanshipSince 1947

Welcome to Sanurri Rugs, where tradition meets modernity in a celebration of art and heart. Our legacy began over 2500 years ago, rooted in the ancient art of weaving, and has evolved into a contemporary hallmark of quality and ethical craftsmanship.

The Heart of Our Heritage
Our journey started with my grandfather, Mr. Haji Mushtaque. As a skilled designer and weaver, he witnessed the harsh realities of an industry that undervalued the very hands that brought beauty to life. With unwavering determination, he brought together a community of 7 gifted artisans—3 of whom were pioneering women—committed to excellence and fairness.
My father, Mr. Mohd Rayees, inherited this noble vision and expanded our artisan community to over 20 skilled craftspeople, carefully balancing male and female talent. He transformed our humble beginnings into a legacy that spoke of integrity, quality, and passion.
I, Nayyare Aazam, grew up immersed in this legacy of vision and dedication. Today, we support more than 60 artisans and 250 family members, preserving a heritage of fair wages and ethical craftsmanship.
Our Crafting Process

Carding & Spinning
Our artisans lovingly prepare raw fibers, transforming them into the yarns that form the soul of each rug.

Natural Dying
We use natural, AZO-free dyes that bring out vibrant, enduring colors while respecting our planet.

Artistic Design
Inspired by timeless beauty and modern aesthetics, our designs blend traditional motifs with contemporary elegance.

Hand Weaving
Every rug is hand-knotted and hand-woven with precision and care—a process that turns yarn into an exquisite tapestry.

Finishing Touch
A final, delicate treatment enhances the softness, durability, and luminous quality of each piece.
Our Promise to You
Every Sanurri Rugs creation is made to order, tailored to your specific taste and designed to be a cherished heirloom. Our collections, whether minimalist, contemporary, or steeped in tradition, are not just for decorating a home—they are statements of art that bring warmth, beauty, and ethical values into every space.
